Fred graduated from Northwestern Dental School in 1983. While there he discovered his love for carving the human figure. As a nature lover, the miracles of life inspire his creativity.
Fred has made many trips to Kansas to obtain the Post Rocks that are native to that state. While there he leaves roadside carvings for everyone to enjoy.
The little town of Lucas in central Kansas has been Fred's home base. The wonderfully kind and generous townsfolk of Lucas provide Fred with the inspiration to leave images of the locals. Four of them are roadside on Kansas Routes K232, The Postro
Fred's yard at 1006 Ayers Ave. in Ojai serves as a gallery of his Kansas Fencepost sculptures. Throw open the garage door to view his working studio and a gallery of sculpture pieces of various sizes in stone and bronze.
